Built in the first decades of the last century (1924), the railway overpass had an evident deterioration in both the masonry and the metal structures of its bearings.
The structure was made up of masonry abutments, stone blocks and a bridge deck, made up of metal beams and fretted metal sheets. After evaluating the operational difficulties of performing radical maintenance work, and considering the conditions of the overpass, a total remodeling of the work was planned.
The new reinforced concrete abutments were placed on five micropiles and the walls were lengthened from 10 to 12 meters. The bridge deck, made up of 17 HEM 800 beams incorporated into the concrete, has a length of 10.50 meters and was positioned in a single block using a telescopic crane.
