After being inactive for over 10 years, since 2016 the former Irisbus plant in Modena has hosted hundreds of engineers and designers who have been working on the new Alfa Romeo sedan, with rear wheel drive layout, sedan and the new Suv Maserati.

The activities consisted in the restructuring of unused buildings and related external areas of the industrial area. The works concerned the main building, with metal structure and shed covering, located at the center of the area, of about 9,600 m2, the low-rise building of 800 m2 and the outer areas of its territory.

The aim of the project was to build offices in a new mezzanine occupying a portion of approximately 4,000 m2of building B, the recovery of the rest of buiding B to be used as a workshop, the reconditioning of the service room as an electrical cabinet, ancillary rooms used as a guard-room and other (infirmary and services), the reconstruction of external areas (fences, squares, flowerbeds), and the development of a covered path to connect various buildings of the area, integrated with the escape routes of the main building. In addition to the renovation of building C, a canteen/ kitchen and restaurant were built
